Living life like it was 1865! What a party!

I have to say I had a wonderful weekend living life like it was 1865! It was a party and I would gladly do it again! The only thing I think I would change is those beds! It seems in 1865 they didn’t have sleep number beds.

Log cabin in Magness Tree Farm

This last weekend I got to spend the night in the log cabin on what seemed to be the hardest bed I’ve ever been on. But, still, I learned a lot about plants, trees and living without and I have to say I’m not sure I could live that way for very long.

A weekend spent like that is what I call an adventure, not real life too Todd!

Todd, neat looking old cabin.  Was this someplace in Oregon?

1865, it's 1865 everyday here in Gettysburg, well maybe more like 1863

Where was this, Todd?  This looks like something fun and interesting to do next time I'm in your area.

Todd -- I just had a conversation about my uncle's cabin in the deep woods and how I couldn't understand how he liked it so much.  Some people absolutely love it.  Others..like me....don't find it very appealing.  That is a cool looking cabin, though.

Oh the simple life.  I love the concept, but I too would miss the comfort of my bed if away from it for too long.

I roughed it once... in a cabin in Big Bear, CA.  No power, running water or bathroom... just an outhouse!  In the dead of winter... it was pretty chilly outside, if ya know what I mean!

Yes, this was just a little out of town at Magness Memorial Tree Farm.

Todd, you would get a bit more creative I'll bet! A few chicken dinners could soften that bed right up! LOL...
