Tall One came home from school the other day with a fabulous smile on her face. She told me she had a GREAT day, and then told me why. She and her friends have invented “Hug Day”. Each of them was assigned a day, and that day everyone would hug them.
It had been Tall One’s Hug Day.
I thought that was beautiful. And then I was jealous as hell.
Imagine, a day where everyone you like hugs you. Heck, imagine just knowing people will SMILE when they see you – some days that would be enough!!
Why, oh why do we have to grow up?? Or why does growing up so often mean losing the fun, impulsive stuff? Tall One had the best smile when she got home. She was in a great mood all that evening. I am so thankful for the great friends my child has.
And so jealous that I grew up and can’t call a “Hug Day” without having people seriously question my sanity. Hmpf.
It’s Monday (again) and I’m seriously wishing I could call a Hug Day.
(((HUGS)))
NEVER grow up!! Ann
