You make a very intersting point. I wonder how those numbers would change if you were able to break them down by age, occupation, education, marital status etc.
It actually just started as an elaborate part of my 'Make Jeff Turner Smile Social Media Strategy.' Only after I perturbed half of my Facebook friends with empty promises and cryptic emails did I start to see that it might have broader application in furthering my less important strategy of attracting new users!
Jeff - I HAVE to read my e-mail as it could be from potential clients looking to sell their homes, whereas no one is going to post on FB that they want to sell their home. FB is optional, but e-mail is mandatory.
Jeff:
Say your original, read it but made no comment
See and understand the dat with this one.
How do we change it?
Jeff, it's intuitively obvious that 90% are probably not listening - but your clever study quantified the numbers nicely!
Jeff, In this market, you really need to try each of these tools to be visible and stay in contact with your dateabase. I believe in face to face contact as a necessary tool, as well.
Jeff

Wishing you and your entire family a wonderful Thanksgiving Day surrounded by family and friends!
Hi, you had great responses. I like email more and more. Texting for quick conversation, not marketing. Kristine

I have often wondered about these numbers so this is great to see it quantified. I suspected it was about 10% and I am glad to see I was about right on that. I have had good responses from my consistent email marketing

Interesting information. The attention span of the internet user is pretty short due to the rate with which we consume massive amounts of content. I like how Facebook now tells you what percent of your audience you've reached with each post. They, unsurprisingly, match up to this claim.
Clever study... I agree the skimming that occurs when online with facebook is quite common and substance isnt what we're looking for when scrolling..for me I like the pics and articles passed around :-)
Email is key--tell us more about Happy Grasshopper..
I agree and would like to add that email response
goes up much higher when you write
YOUR OWN messages.
(I've tried automated systems and drip campaigns...ashamed to say)
but nothing replaces the real and authentic YOU engaging your customers.
PS - If you don't know what to say, go learn! Get into your customers' mindset or take a course on writing autoresponders.
Jeff, I just came across this post and I found it very interesting. The fact that it generated those types of numbers quickly is impressive especially when you consider that most direct mail / postcards statistics report in the 1-3% range.

Hoping that the return of Bob Stewart and the re-energizing of AR bring you back as well.
Have a successful day -
