Hudson Valley Rib Festival
Thanks to the Murphy Group in Kingston New York for this blog post on the Ulster County Fair and the food contests. I've missed the New Paltz fair for several years now, so I'm planning to go this year.
I moved up to the Hudson Valley in New York in 2004 and I still can't get over how beautiful it is up here! New Paltz happens to be one of my favorite towns and I am always happy to get a home staging job there. I am doing an accessories staging in Highland one town over from New Paltz next week, and I am sure that I will take a break at some point to grab a coffee in town and wander in and out of the quaint shops.
If you ever eat anything ever, you love ribs. Ribs are so good, vegan and vegetarian food produces make a soy rib substitute. Any one who has a pulse loves ribs. And I don’t care what diet you are on, you need to drop everything, start the fast now if you need to, The Hudson Valley Rib Festival is on August 20th and 21st. It starts at 11am and goes to 5 pm. And, it is only five dollars to get in! It is going to be held on the oh so wonderful Ulster County Fair Grounds in New Paltz. This is your one stop shop for rib enjoyment.
There will be food contests on both days of the event. On Saturday, the New England Barbecue Society has their grilling contest. Every team will compete in a total of four categories: Pizza, Pork Tenderloin, Beef Rib Eye and Apple Dessert. The winner gets $600.00! The next day will be the Kansas City Barbecue Society Contest. The teams will compete in four different categories again; Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Butt/Shoulder and Beef Brisket. The first place winner will get $2,500.00! ....... Read more here!!
