Congress To VA Rulemakers: "Not So Fast. We Need The Money!"

You can't make this stuff up!  Congress has a bill going to DISALLOW the reduction of the VA Funding Fee.  It seems that they think they need the money more than our Veterans.

What can you do?

Pick up the phone!  Get involved.  Call your senators to complain!

Here's a link to find YOUR SENATORS and their phone numbers.  Let's do it now!

Congress doesn't worry about getting paid.  They don't worry about healthcare.  The only thing they worry about is what their constituents think about them, and in my humble opinion, they don't worry enough.  Give them something to worry about.

Give them a call!

Mike are you really surprised by this legislation? Vet's have been getting screwed since WW1. Par for the course.

Mike,

It's a fee not a tax.

Only Vet's buying homes pay it.

The rest won't care.

Few if any Vet's will realize they're paying it to the Government.

They're right! The people won't relise! They'll blame the lenders!

It's a perfect tax it only affects a select group who don't know the difference!

The Liberals with out morals and the Rinos who only pratice what they preach on Sunday mornings or right before elections will all vote for it!

HI MIKE!   Good grief - and thanks for sharing the link - this country has it's priorities mixed up about who they cater to and take care of and those that they just let go - like this!

We need to connect our Representatives in Washington regarding the VA funding reduction.

Good luck and success.

I'm sure that someone in Congress thought that they could use that money more than our vets can. It's just more of a money grab.

Mike, the only thing they care about is getting re-elected. Nothing else.

Hmmm.....as long as the program is well funded and can take care of it's defaults, then the funding fee should be reduced.  The government shouldn't give away for free the guarantee that the Department of Veteran's Affairs is making to lenders, then it's another government give away, which some of the commentors seem to prefer.  IF the program is well funded, lower the fee.  If not, well....

Lenn, I found out who "sponsored" this bill.   Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL) in the Restoring GI Bill Fairness Act of 2011.  It is H.R. 1383.  It hasn't passed yet, but may allow for the "extension" of the decrease until October 12. 2012.
