Approximately 6,000 freshmen are moving in to Virginia Tech today. We moved our son in on Monday because he attended the third annual "Hokie Camp" and he was able to miss the stressfully crowded event that happens every year on college campuses across the nation. We also moved our daughter into Tech on Saturday as she is an Orientaiton Leader and Hokie Ambassador for the school.
This is the fifth year that the Virginia Tech football players volunteered to help their fellow students move in their belongings. It is a great way to give back to the student body and show their appreciation for the support for their team during the season. The pride and support that "HokieNation" shows for its atthletic programs is some of the best in the country. This effort by the players today and tomorrow just sets an example for the new students that are arriving to the school for the first time.
