Very interesting Barbara. The house I recently bought is the first home I have ever actually used the eating area for the eating area. I personally like to eat "socially", around the kitchen counter chatting with my family on stools. I like what you did and it looks like it feels less "crammed". It is so hard to let go of what we think is supposed to be in a home and go with what works for the home!
