Let's Play Tag - You're It

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Real Estate Centre Inc., Brokerage

Do you use a tagline for your business?  Is it part of your branding or do you change it up every so often when the mood strikes?  Is it catchy, humorous, clever?  Is it truthful?

Are you an expert, a specialist, number 1?  I know lots of you are.  Do you have the facts to back up your statements?  Be careful if you don't or you may be taken to task.

I was leafing through a local real estate magazine today, and made note of different REALTORS® taglines.

Here are a few that I came across: Number 1 real estate agent

I do not thhink there is any value in tag lines, but I might be wrong

Hi Jenny - In Ontario, it is illegal to use the word "specialist" in real estate advertising.  It creates a problem for some of the real estate designations with "specialist" in the designation.

I also find that some taglines are used by too many agents to become meaningless.

Jenny, I have been thinking of our tag lines, and I am not sure how effective they have been for us.  We're the C Team with A+ results.  That is our main tag line.  This has been a great post in that it really has got me thinking about our primary tag line and if we have used it correctly or if it is even effective, thank you!

Hi Fred, that's a very interesting tagline.  I wonder how long it took someone to come up with it .

Hi Joan, I agree.  And some agents use them extremely successfully.

Margaret, you have a great tagline.  Hmmm, wonder what I can rhyme with Kotulak lol.

Hi Jon, I guess it would be hard to find out how much business a tagline brings.  But I guess if it is something that becomes top of mind for customers then it is doing it's job.

Marc, you are right about the specialist word being outlawed.  I think expert is a no no also isn't it?

Hi Tony, I think your tag line is really catchy.  I would think it stands out in the crowd lol.

Jenny - I've been using "Find Your Dream Home ... Without Leaving Home" for years (when I first started using it there were few local agents who had web sites) now it seems a little passe

Jenny, I've thought about this, but really haven't found a tag line or come up with one that I like or doesn't sound too cliche.
