The St. Michael Daze and Knights organizing committee held a wrap-up meeting last night, and there were a lot of congratulations going around.
First of all, this was the most successful gathering in years. And, they have decided to keep the dates in the mid-August range rather than move them as they once considered to nearer the Fourth of July.
There were a lot of reasons this festival was more successful than past attempts. One was the new inflatable midway, the tents were PACKED each day with the concerts, a business expo and arts and crafts.
The Senior Center alone made $300 from its bingo event. And, the parade had more than 85 entries and was very well-attended. People were waving and having a great time.
The traveling circus also welcomed crowds for four shows, and also had a petting zoo and pony rides.
The concerts on both Friday and Saturday nights were huge hits. All, in all, it was a great success. Now, on to 2012!
