IS THERE LIFE ON OTHER PLANETS? YES IS THEIR LIFE IN CONGRESS? NO

Is their life on other planets? We don't know but it is safe to assume so. After-all, there are no end to the solar systems and the galaxies within this Universe. Is there life in Congress? NO. We know conclusively that there is NO life in Congress. We have sent probes to Washington and they all come back with zero readings on intelligent life

PART TIME WORKERS FOR A FULL TIME JOB

You see congress and all the rest of the elite power ruling class cannot be bothered with full time work. That is why they don't hold sessions until things are resolved. They only stay long enough to say they met, they argue and then go. Now where they go is no mystery either

WHERE THEY ARE WELL KNOWN

There are no end to the dining choices in the Washington area where you can walk into any one of them and all of Congress is known by their first names. Even what they order (the usual) is well known. Some are even surprised with the chef's special as a reward for frequenting the establishment.

IT'S ON ME

Now, they don't go alone, everyone takes their secretaries, their pages, their hairdresser, tailor, all family members and of course take turns on treating each other. It is only fair that the same person doesn't pay all the time. They take turns using the different expense accounts treating each other

OTHER MEETINGS

In between dining pleasures, they are off into other meetings of one sort or another. Long secret gatherings where 75 year old scotch is served while they hammer out serious problems affecting the Nation. After a few of those, a vacation is needed sorely. It is not easy for Congress now a days

The search for life continues both on and off....the planet

Richie~  How funny and sadly true!!!  Do you think the beings from other planets could actually get something done in Washington?

Kim....the answer to your question is obvious. Beings from another planet, intellignet and capable of space travel would immediately know what to do with Washington...LEVEL IT and start all over.....

Richie, your post is what I would call "right on".  I would love to have the amount of vacations that are taken in our Capital, and love to have lunch or dinner at the restaurants that are adorned with all the politicians and their entourages. Unfortunately at my home we work very hard for a living and don't have the freedom to indulge so much. We have a "Federal" worker who lives across the street, pretty high up in one of the federal bureaucracies, who is home more than he is not, he does have a beautiful yard though.

Richie, the technology today is peering into the former isolation they've held.  We are at fault for allowing this to happen although the Congressional time space continuum is beginning to erode on it's own.  A favorite saying is "Power intoxicates men.  It is never voluntarily surrendered.  It must be taken from them."  ~  James F. Mary Stewart... of Oregon First...you nailed it. How anyone can live high on the hog while tens of millions are suffering is arrogant and is saying..."I don't care what you think and there is nothing you can do about it". This insult to the injury is too much...it is just too much...thank you MS

Kevin..that is a great comment that we may or may not experience in our life time. Before the fall of Russia, you could have bet all you own it would never happen. But it did.. The current Congressional system is not working. How do we know? Well when we need it the most it is not there. What are we paying for all this time? All we have are problems but no problem solvers..what a mess Kevin

Richie - It certainly appears that there is not intelligent life in DC. Sad, but a symptom of our ailing political system.

...Interesting and true. History is being written, and it might go something like this:

...And while Washington was heavy with sleep from its indulgence, and dividing itself as a nation to gain or retain party power, Russia was attaching itself to Iran in a miliary alliance said to protect Iran from the west. No one expected these two (the godless and the fanatics) to become bedfellows, yet in hindsight, it's obvious why they did....One had money...the other had a secret, they both hated the west and ta da!..right under Washington's nose....Ahmadinejad is captured on film....smiling and winking.....guess who has nuclear weapons!

Salvatore....you just put an interesting cherry on this Sunday. While we bicker, people are planning and strategizing. A house divided cannot stand and Congress has an obvious lack of leadership that has trickled down to the the average American in the street and is affecting them for the worse. We need professional help

Richie and others here...I'm what might be called a political junkie...I read, listen and watch these monkeys dance to whatever tune is appropriate when 'face time' comes their way...I just finished an interesting article in TIME magazine this week titled 'All the Candidates Pork' about the Republican front runners ( does anyone really think a Rick Santorum has a chance?) and how they all begged Washington for money for their individual states and districts, quite recently in fact...The last paragraph, you can look it up, says this;

"But there is historical reason for voters to be skeptical. Small-government rhetoric is nothing new for Republican Presidential candidates. Ronal Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush all ran for office promising to better manage taxpayer money. And they all left the country deeper in debt than when they arrived."

I, as you, figured the system FUBAR a long time ago.

Nothing personal...Enjoy your day.

Ernie the "real deal" Steele...I am glad you commented because we can use some political passion on this subject. Perhaps the cry for change may be heard. In the world of politics, the people are only used to get their vote. After that, it has been proven that we are not needed anymore. Case in point is the current state of affairs. If the current conduct portrayed in Congress showed itself in a business arena of accountability, these people would be unemployed and unemployable. Apparently getting pass the voters is the only skill and talent they need. Ernie...Every one running looks like every one in office now. They even sound the same.

Ernie....I have to say that you set a fine example in supporting the country via voting...The system works well when used. As for elections....The fox has learned how to dress as a chicken to gain access to the coup...
