There are kids, kids in costumes. Kids in costumes with pets, pets in costumes. Not to mention decorated bikes, trikes, wagons and floats! Oh Yes, it is the annual Olympia Pet Parade - and this morning's parade was a really good one!
Lots of other kids line the streets with their parents and grandparents to watch the parade - and run to grab the candy that occasionally gets flung their way from parading kids.
I love the creativity of the costumes each year in the Olympia Pet Parade. This year's theme of Villains and Super Heroes gave them lots of great ideas for clever outfits - for the kids and the pets both!
Often the fancier entries like floats look like they have provided some great family fun in preparation for today's big parade.
And though dogs are the most common pet entry to see in the parade, there were also cats (no, most did NOT look happy to be in the Pet Parade), chickens, ducks, guinea pigs, horses....even at least one gold fish.
The sun was shining brightly and you could tell that the kids in the parade and the kids watching were all having a wonderful time this morning in the downtown streets of Olympia! Olympia's annual Pet Parade - another great reason to enjoy living here!
