I Was Talking To A Peach

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Century 21 Sherlock Homes

I was talking to a peach and it was before five and so it did not entail any adult beverages.  I knew I was talking to a peach because I have a decent ear and I know a peach when I hear one.

It was on Thursday afternoon and I was at work when my cell phone rang and I almost didn't answer because I had no clue on the area code and I don't want to buy any motivational tapes or attend a "free" seminar where I will be forced to buy motivational tapes.  Back on track, I am glad I answered because there was a peach on the other line.

The person/peach had a thick, very thick, sweet as peach juice drawl and said "hi, I'm Tammy Lankford"  Well I was so happy to hear from her.  Just out of the blue, no problems nothing but a chat about how her year has been and the difference in the two markets.  Just two girls shooting the breeze.  How's that for a country saying Miss Tammy's.  Two Tammy's on AR, two country mice.

This is the first time I spoke on the phone with someone from AR.  Russel left me a message one time and I acted like it was from a rock star.  Well I guess he is a rock star, so I'm excused from acting silly.  I often think about calling but I never act on it and I'm really glad that someone was spontaneous enough to call me.

Today in Palisade Colorado home of the Elberta peach since 1898 we are having our 45 annual Peach Festival. Had to comment on your blog cause my mind is "peachy keen". Every thing is peachy in Palisade.

Hi Liz,

I emailed you about a couple of contests and about the virtual AR Camp. Did you receive them?   Did you get signed up for the Rain Camp?

Liz, I was trying to call at least one AR member a week, then got sidetracked.  Think I'll go back to that.  Like Tammy, I just call to say hi and to discuss our different markets and learn just a little personal information   on the fellow activerainer.  Think I'll go back to this - it's fun.  Thanks for the reminder  and I'm glad you had a fun call!!!

JoAnn I did get your email and thank you so much, sometimes I am awful rude about not emailing back but I did appreciate the heads up on the contests.  I was going to enter the why I chose real estate one but I became overwhelmed by the scanning of old pictures.  By the way I was a beautiful baby but everyone will just have to take my word for it.

Liz, isn't that just the most wonderful feeling when a fellow Active Rainer calls?  I think the peach on the other end of the line recognized a fellow peach!  I hope you have a peachy day!  Oh yeah, that was soooooo corny!

Juli I loved the call and I don't know why I don't call, I was worried about certain people a few times but I took the easy way out and emailed.  A call is much more personal.

See what I've been missing not having my DSL at home.  It's working again and I'm catching up on my reading.  I SO enjoyed our call.  In fact on Friday I met with a client who used to live just 5 miles from NYC and he was telling me about selling his father's house up there and then asked if I wanted to see his bank statements.  I laughed at him and told him I knew that happened in NY, but that I did NOT require to see his bank statements.  It was like fate that we'd chatted the day before he called to come in.

What a sweet post (no pun intended).  We'll have to chat again one day.
