I wonder why people stopped sending mail through the US Postal Service? I mean like birthday cards, short letters, and post cards. Stuff like that always brings a smile to a persons face.
This day and age it is so much easier to send an e-mail or e-vite or an electronic birthday card greeting. But still it doesn't come up to the feeling as when you get something through the mail. Why is that? Okay no one likes to be blasted from banks with their credit card applications and all sorts of other non mail we each get on a daily basis. That doesn't bring a smile to my face.
But today I received a smile through the mail in the form of a post card from some clients. They had a death in the family and had traveled out of county to attend to those financial matters. I had not heard from them in some time. I was starting to get concerned as we are in the process of searching for multi-living complex for them to purchase...
Low and behold a card from Norway! What the heck? That is not the country that they went to! On well I am glad they got to go and visit or take a vacation. At this point I don't know which it is. However, it sure felt nice for them to send me a post card to let me know they had not forgotten me.
