Daytona Beach area guests and residents, if you're looking for a fun way to spend half a day, this weekend you can visit the annual Home & Garden Show at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center at 101 N. Atlantic Ave.

Here are just a few items and ideas you'll find at this year's Home Show.

  1. Seminars by self-proclaimed professional organizer Ingrid Timbs.
  2. Tips and Products for Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling from more than 20 exhibitors.
  3. Unique "how-to" presentations on ways to replace old formica counters with new marble and granite counters.
  4. Turning old items into works of art.
  5. Tips on landscaping and the effects of the soil, water and environmental agents.
  6. How mold and mildew can effect your health, and how to remove these toxins from your home.

There's so much more. Every year there are cooking shows, taste tests, real estate booths, door prizes, drawings, miscellaneous samples and much more. It's always an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Admission is free and the show is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The show runs October 25-28. You can park in the nearby parking garage. For more information, call 386-672-0273 or 386-323-5612. You can also go to www.daytonabeachhomeshow.com.
