If you're the loved-one of a senior person, the topic of your senior's driving and safety probably weighs on your mind or has been a topic of discussion.
The AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) helps seniors face those concerns. They've developed an 8-hour refresher course that covers many important topics related to older drivers, such as:
- Learning Defensive Driving Techniques
- Tuning-Up Driving Skills
- Learning the Effects of Aging on Driving
- How to Remain a Safe Driver
- Dealing with Turns, Blind-Spots, and More
On Wednesday, August 24th and Thursday, August 25th ... senior drivers in the Mokena, IL area will have a chance to benefit from an 8-hour AARP classroom refresher program being held at the Mokena Community Public Library.
The classes will be held each day between the hours of 10 am to 2:30 pm. There will be snacks provided during a 30 minute break each day.
A $12.00 Registration Fee will be charged to AARP Members. The cost of the 2-day classroom is $14.00 for non-members. The fee is payable to AARP prior to the first-day's class.
For the first 20 Mokena Public Library District seniors registering for the class, there is an extra bonus. The Library will pay your class fees!
It should be noted that taking this class MAY make you eligible for special discounts on your auto insurance. Please contact your insurance agent to see if benefit applies to you.
