It is important to have friends outside the business.

Elizabeth has a good point that I wanted to share with my fellow AR friends. I think we all need to remember to spend time with friends who are not in real estate. It helps us not get burned out.

I am a workaholic and tend to talk to my peers and clients only. Not because I don't have other friends but because I spend my time on the phone talking to other Realtors and clients for my job. Today I had coffee with a friend and we did not mention real estate....once. It was so refreshing. Gee I have other interests that I had forgotten about. In this market we have to work extra hard and long to just stay even and I have forgotten I do have another life. This is a bit of an exaggeration but the point is I need other outlets.

I have great friends in the business. I would not trade them for anything. Sometimes we think that all the world is centered around real estate. Not so.
