Last Thursday, HP decided to end their entry into the tablet/slate market with their HP Touchpad only 49 days after launching it!
Originally, it was priced to compete with the Apple iPad 2 at $499 for the 16G version. Then they quickly dropped the price down to $399 to try to generate more interest. What that didn't work, they abandoned the product and liquidated them for only $99!
What happened this week is equally intriguing! I was fortunate enough to buy one for $99. I went to Amazon to find another one and saw something I had never seen before - premium pricing!

I think one reason why they are selling so much is that it was just announced on PC World that TouchDroid will enable converting them into Android based tablets so they won't be obsolete just yet! http://www.pcworld.com/article/238617/touchdroid_will_turn_touchpads_into_android_tablets.html#tk.rss_news
