Yuck, just the thought of it Kathy. However, at least it's not an alligator!
Looks like a Beverly Hillbilly's kind of dinner a brewin...hahaha. What a cute photo and caption. They are curious little buggers aren't they? ( Loved your hubby's comment "tastes like chicken.")
Ha! Kathy! It obviously is not turned on.. When did we get to Arkansas and cook that up for dinner? Hee hee! Cute pic!
Didn't someone just write a blog about squirrel stew...yummy, (NOT)! What a cutie...I am assuming the grill was not on :)!
Cathy- he's got that right! Watch for some babies to come this week!
Joanna- alligator isn't too bad. Had it only once. Don't you like my gators???
Debb- I love them. I know many don't especially if they were to get into your attic but how can you not like a little squirrel. Although when you think of it... they are rodents.
Tammy- I actually took this one when we lived in VA. I loved the wildlife there!
Brenda- Grill was definitely not on and we did fire it up (a lot) to make sure everything was cleaned off!
Kathy, you can't "stage" a shot like that - good thing the squirrel cooperated for you!
Kathy
Your timing was right on the photo.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Kathy, I loved this photo. He looks so cute, not like ours who are rats with furry tails.
There's a rumor going around that someone is trying to eat squirrel over here and the West Coast squirrels are gathering the forces to come to the rescue.
Ana- same here. I'd rather have a veggie burger than eat that little squirrel.
Brian- you're so right. I learned to keep a camera at the ready in the house.
Lou- Thanks Lou. All I can say is thank goodness for digital cameras.
Suzanne- I know... I was somewhere (can't remember) and the squirrels were redder and big!
Kerrie- I'd say he could have been seconds away from being at least an appetizer!
Russel- Oh how funny!!!! Bring em on!
Kathy, I almost hate to admit it, but I had squirrel stew once prepared by a great southern lady who I could not say no to. It was my personal episode of "bizarre foods". I remember it didn't taste like chicken! :-)
We have an expression around here . . . My two favorite teams are the Broncos and whoever is playing the Raiders. So thanks for not putting the Raiders on there. My two favorite teams are the Broncos (although I'm not a huge fan under Orton) and Peyton Manning :) :) :) So let the games begin . . .
It appears that he thought one of your steaks from last nights dinner was a relative!
Pam- Oh we took great care of them during the winter!
Silvia- I've never had it but weren't you brave for trying it! I think I'd plead vegan!
Rebecca- thank you! We don't have as many squirrels down here as we did in VA.
Shar- LOL--- I think you're right! And, I think it might have been a delicacy.
Mimi- I'm worried about his neck. I used to be a quasi-fan of the old Raiders under John Madden but that was then.
Sharon- We had a bad icy snow storm (when I was in VA) and I couldn't get down to the squirrel feeder because it was so bad. I made big balls of peanut butter, bird seed and corn, put them in the fridge for a bit to harden, then rolled them down our little hill so they would have food. My husband thought I was nuts but then he got into it too.
Michael- egads... I hope not!!!
