Marathon, Florida Keys Short Sale, Approved and Closed Seller gets $23,000 CASH!!!

florida keys short saleI am not one to toot my own horn but in the past four years of processing Short Sales in the Florida Keys I have never seen anything like this!

Our homeowner was very upside down and struggling to pay her mortgage after a divorce left her bearing the brunt of the mortgage payments. After a consultation with me and advice from an attorney we decided to list her home and proceed with the short sale.

She accepted an offer below market value and about $200,000 LESS than her mortgage payoff. The home also needed repairs but we sold the home “as-is” and the new buyer accepted those liabilities.

We then processed her Short Sale with Chase who agreed to give her $20,000 as an incentive to do the sale along with the $3,000 HAFA money. The sale was approved by Chase and we closed on Thursday.

Neither of us fully believed she would really get the money. But, Friday I got an incredulous text message from the seller that she had $23,000 in her checking account.

This was really satisfying for me to be a part of this for her. She is a really nice young lady and I am very happy for her and feel privileged to have been a part of helping her transform her financial situation.
