Has anyone made their own custom website?

As I stated in my previous post, I am analyzing my current website and looking at possible alternatives.  I am happy overall with my current website, but there may be better out there.  One option I am looking at is designing my ovwn website using frontpage and then paying someone to host it.  If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate some feedback.  Also does anyone have a hosting company they really like?  Any feedback on any hosting company would be appreciated.

Check out Zowbie Consulting for both the design of and hosting of your website.  Give them a call and they'll be happy to consult with you.  http://www.zowbie.com/contactus.php

The company is built up of industry insiders with a strong background in marketing.  They can provide a custom site or they are affiliated with many top notch vendors such as Point2 and A La Mode.

Note:  Frontpage will take some time to learn, chances are you don't develop a GREAT site...pay a small fee to a company like Zowbie.  Afterall, time is money and I think you'll be surprised at the fees they charge.

Hi Mike, I created my own website because I wanted to have immediate access to it at all times. I created it knowing very little about website design and I still have much to do - it's only around 70% complete, but usable. I used the website developer "Antenna" - by Stormcloud. It's pretty easy, but having said that, you would have very different needs than I would for a website.      Good Luck.

A colleague of mine has at site he made using Advance Access (http://www.advancedaccess.com/). He seems happy with the results.

If you want to visit his site it is livingbakersfield.com.

Mike.  There are some great free/pay sites out there ( Point2 ) which provide excellent value and are highly customizable.  The time and expense of developing a site probably doesn't pay off considering those available.  Good luck.

I had point2 and myers and got tired of using the template sites.

Soooo....I made my own using Yahoo Site Builder (if you do a search you will find a blog post I wrote about it).

I now have COMPLETE control over my site and what goes on it and where.  I couldn't be happier.  My self-made site is producing more leads than the point2 ever did.

Site Builder is easy to learn and you just have to figure out what you want.

Here is a link to my site.  www.MyNewNCHome.com

I have just customized a new website and I worked with web agent solutions.  They were absolutely incredible!  Please take a look at my website at www.baconbaysden.com.  I am not all that tech savvy but I knew what I wanted.  They helped me achieve exactly what I saw in my head.  The cost was very reasonable because I got a branded and unbranded site for the price of one site with all of the customization.
