So - there I was at 99,803 points. If I got the math right (LOL) - one blog and I would have hit my goal of 100,000 points just a bit ahead of the "do it before my September birthday" schedule. Two milestones close to one another!
I have been studying the points system to be able to write the (maybe) definitive post on POINTS POINTS POINTS and OTHER ACTIVERAIN QUIRKS explained by ODAT Realty CDPE Metro Atlanta Buy Lease Sell in Buckhead Atlanta GA. Now that THE BIG MOMENT IS HERE - what I want to do first is write a BIG THANKS to those who made this possible. No, not an Oscar speech but a glimpse of the amazing culture of ActiveRain.
One day - before I had even posted for the first time, Gary Coles (Las Vegas, NV) subscribed to my as yet unstarted blog! That was very flattering and got me a little closer to the first post. Then in Chicago, I met Lyn Sims who said three times in 45 minutes, "Just write and hit the POST button. I waited too long to get started - just do it." Those two got me started and I am really, really grateful. Then other people I had never met encouraged me and even coached me to get my first post online in February 2011. (Yes, I had tried in January but had to DELETE them! They were SOOOOOOOO BAD - incomplete links, garbled HTML, out of scale photos ...)
Next came classes - ActiveRain University for starters - teacher at that time was Steven. Some classes I took three or four times - all new terms and activities - took a while to integrate it all. Bob Stewart (AR Staff) teaches at ActiveRain University now. His classes are about many, many different aspects of RE online. Bob spices up the classes: he brings brings guest speakers on varied topics.
Brad Andersohn (Zillow) boosted my learning with his patient explanations and wonderful sense of humor. Zillow offers a wide range of topics and guest speakers - even Tom Ferry one time. "A la carte" I took other classes one after another from many different sites.
AR members William Johnson (San Diego, CA), Ron & Alexandra Seigel (Carpenteria, CA), Margaret Rome (Baltimore, MD), Carla Muss-Jacobs (Portland, OR), VB (aka Robert Swetz, Las Vegas), Russel Ray (San Diego), Rebecca Gaujot (West Virginia) and several others kept the learning curve moving up for me. They answered my questions and welcomed me into the community. The AR staff always answers phoned in questions so pleasantly and so professionally. If they don't know - they go ask someone. The culture of ActiveRain was a welcoming one.
