Is your Resume safe?

With many job searching websites out there (hotjobs.com, careerbuilder.com, monster, etc)  it's easier than ever to get your resume exposure.  But the people you want are not the only ones seeing your resume.

More and more, phishers (people who look for your personal information to use for illicit purposes) are gaining alot of personal info from resumes posted online.  With just a little personal info someone could get a credit card in your name, get information about your debts, and potentially damage your credit rating.

Ways to Protect Your Resume From Phishers

  • Never put your Social Security Number on anything posted online
  • Consider making personal information harder to find, such as a street address or phone number.
  • Really think about what sensitive information you are giving to complete strangers.
In today's dangerous internet we all must be wary of phishers and hackers.
