Let’s hear it for the flippers. There was a time when the FHA and VA insured or guaranteed mortgages to the extent that when there was a foreclosure, the home was repaired, freshly painted, new carpeting installed and, in the case of smaller homes, garages added. The homes were priced at market value and so in demand that the FHA had drawings to see which lucky buyer s would get to buy the homes. Today that money must go into the general fund with the social security money because dirty, moldy homes are being dumped on the market at ridiculously low prices that result in value loss for the entire neighborhood. Thank you flippers for assuming the government’s responsibility. You are the heroes that are saving neighborhood property values. Suggestion #3 Don’t penalize the flippers by not allowing FHA financing when the home is beautifully restored. Maybe they should be the recipients of tax breaks
