I took a little time today to take a walk before the upcoming storm. As I crossed this little stream I wondered how it would look on Sunday after all of the projected rain from Hurricane Irene. At least today it was a tranquil scene and gave me a chance to clear my head before having to worry about batteries and flashlights.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all in the area to know that the devastation will be minimal and the losses minute.
Cindy, let's hope that the storm loses it's strength before it gets to you. Stay safe.
I'm sure the DC area is going to get more than it's share of rain over the next few days. We all just need to be careful.
Cindy- here's hoping it will be just as beautiful as it looks now. Be safe.
That stream is a serine location to take a peaceful walk, and hope the hurricane does not damage this beauty.
Cindy: I was living in Northern Virginia when Hurrican Agnes hit the east coast. It was a storm I will never forget...with flooding along the Potomac, power failures...that was a biggie then...but it sounds like it will be dwarfed by Irene. My prayers and good thoughts are with you and everyone along the eastern seaboard.
Cindy
I have been following the hurricane on the Weather Channel it looks like it will be challenging stay safe and dry.
Good luck and success.

Cindy, Living on the North Shore of LI, I've been doing a lot of prep today to prepare. I picked lots of things from the garden (before they get distorted) and cooked them. we have a generator to protect whats in the refrigerator in case we loose power....and we can eat well as the storm passes by.
What a gorgeous photo! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those 65 million people (as CNN reported) who may be affected by this hurricane.
Gretchen
Batteries, flashlights, canned food, manual can opener (do they even make them anymore?)....
We're all thinking of you and praying that everyone makes it through okay.
Love that picture and I am looking forward to seeing that scene again in a few days. Getting ready to move my porch furniture and bird feeders inside.
Glad that we also have a back up generator.
I can only repeat what others have said - my thoughts are with all of you who are threatened. Be safe.
Hi Cindy, I love this photo! You can hear the peace and quiet. Stay safe!!!
