Caffeine, Chocolate and Prayers for Robyn "Rob" Thurman
Savoring a good author happens to be one of my guilty pleasures I am unrepentant about, sort of like my fettish for outstanding caffeine and heavenly chocolates. I flaunt my fave people, places and things (especially foodie paradise spots and authors) to the masses while giggling with the girls and arguing with the guys about why we should all expand and explore new boundries in our reading habits and social media horizons. I am always on the look out for really good reads and usually take my cues on building my author tree from my fave urban fantasy divas.
Tonight, while hanging out on one of my neighborhood Starbucks stools spoofing in my social media accounts, I had a brief Facebook visit with Jocelynn Drake to see what was new and clicked her blog link. Jocelynn wasn't just updating us on who won her latest urban fantasy contest, she also let us know how our social media Tweet-peep Rob Thurman was doing and asked us fans the favor of our support and prayers.
Robyn is on our book club list as a must read author and also has the Jocelynn Drake book club bookie nod of approval which holds a tremendous amout of clout with us picky J-Stream readers. We heart Jocelynn and are all anxious to see her friend Robyn recover from her illness. To quote Jocelynn: "From what I have seen on postings on Twitter and the blog, I believe the urban fantasy author has double pneumonia and this is after being in a car accident. So, if you've read her work and would like to support her, go get one of her books. If you haven't read her but still want to support her, go get one of her books." We have two Rob Thurman selections to read and review on the line-up this weekend to keep us book club bookies busy while Hurricane Irene annoys New York City. We will be back for more...
Author Robyn Thurman writes really cool urban fantasy novels based in New York City under the name Rob Thurman. She created the Cal Leandros Series of novels: Nightlife (book 1), Moonshine (book 2), Madhouse (book 3), Deathwish (book 4), Roadkill (book 5), and Blackout (book 6). Being a native New Yorker I appreciate the fantasy series being based here because there is always the hope a film option developing in ones hometown so we can gawk (that was a hint powers that be - LOL). She has two other series: the Trickster fantasy novels Trick of the Light and The Grimrose Path, plus her Sci-Fi novel Chimera and it's sequel Basilisk.
I believe in God and the power of prayer. Author Rob Thurman is a wonderful person and fabulous writer so me and mine are asking for your prayers and support. Prayers are very precious gifts...
Robyn's family, friends and fans would appreciate and treasure each one offered from your hearts.
