Largest fireworks show in San Diego Sky Show XXXVI, the largest fireworks show in San Diego, is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, following the football game between our hometown San Diego State University Aztecs (yea!) and the Washington State Cougars (boo!) from the Pac-10/11/12. Kickoff for the football game at Qualcomm Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. This is the eighth consecutive year that the fireworks show has been held in conjunction with an Aztec football game. Sky Show is sponsored by radio station KGB, Cox Wireless, El Cajon Ford, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians. The show is synchronized to music and narration on KGB, so make sure you tune in (101.5 on your FM dial) for a little extra pizzazz. The show is probably visible from your Mission Valley condominium but the best viewing is from inside Qualcomm Stadium, which means you have to buy a game ticket and fight traffic and crowds. If that's not your scene, I can personally vouch for the parking lot at Fenton Marketplace since that's where I will be again this year. I like to eat at Islands, walk off the meal at Lowe's, Costco, and Ikea, and then watch the fireworks show. Jim,
The firework pictures are superb. We really like fireworks shows and I am sure this one in San Diego would be a great event to attend. It was 109 degrees here yesterday actual temperature and we could use a little of San Diego's great weather.

Jim,
Those are great pictures of the fireworks; San Diego has so much to offer someone and that does not even include your great weather. I am sure glad it is football season again as well! I hope your Aztecs have a great season keep us posted!

I’ll read through all the comments to see if any of them need a specific response. If so, I’ll respond below this comment. Otherwise, since I like to return comment for comment, I'll be by your blogs soon to do a little reading and commenting. I find that a better way to acknowledge you stopping by and commenting on my blog.
Belinda – It doesn’t matter what camera you use to take fireworks pictures. They always look bad. They require after-event processing in a photo editing program. See Eric Cooper’s posts right after July 4 about making them look good. That’s all I did, was follow his directions.
