Golden Oldies, #11
Russel’s Golden Oldies post each Saturday is the highlight of Saturday blog posts that I like to read.
This is a reblog, and I always disable comments on reblogs out of respect for the original author who did all the work. If you would like to leave a comment, click on the link below and leave your comment with Russel who deserves your support with your comments.

Check in here each Saturday no later than noon Pacific Time and immediately find ten Golden Oldies that I think are worthy of reading, commenting on, and perhaps even reblogging.
How my list works: I choose the people first and then I slog through their blogs for days on end to find an old post that is worthy of reblogging and that has few comments. Once you appear in this series, you won't appear again until I've gone through everyone that I want to highlight. No same old, same old here. No highlighting friends week after week. No highlighting any posts that have already been featured. In my blog we spread the wealth around to try to help as many people as possible.
If you don't like any of my choices here, check past Golden Oldies since I always search out posts that are not time-sensitive. Of course, you can also go find your own! So there!
Here are today's ten Golden Oldies that I think are worthy of reading, commenting, and even reblogging:
- Are we all missing the boat as far as client service is concerned? — by Robert Gilbert, Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate (Katy, Texas). Do we all spend way too much time on social media, writing blogs, working on our web sites, trying to figure SEO and how to improve our web sites' standing, trying to keep up with Facebook, Twitter, Zillow, etc., as opposed to improving our skills which give value back to our clients?
- Know Thyself — by Cal Yoder, Keller Williams Realty (Lancaster, Pennsylvania). I do not need to conform to how others tell me to do things. I need to know myself, my strengths, and how I can best do something
- Help – I am directionally challenged, part 2 — by Joan Whitebook, BHG The Masiello Group (Nashua, New Hampshire). I have a talent for getting lost.... roads without signs....small towns name their streets the same names, so at times you have no idea which town you are in!
- Who sent me this email? — by Steve Hoffacker, Hoffacker Associates (West Palm Beach, Florida). Unless you are known by your nickname and it appears on your business cards, it should not appear anywhere in your email address.
- Look Ma...No Pictures! — by Yvette Chisholm, Long & Foster Real Estate (Rockville, Maryland). If there is anyone out there who can give me a reason to market without photos...I'd really like to hear it. (This could be a much more interesting post if it had pictures.)
- Relationship, Relationship, Relationship — by Gary Woltal, Keller Williams Realty (Flower Mound, Texas). I'm amused at how people take common aphorisms and twist them into something new.... When it comes to crunch time going through the 192 steps it takes to get a house sold, who you gonna call? Ghostbsters! Your valuable Realtor!
- Distressed Properties are NOT Black Holes! — by Irene Kennedy, Weichert Realtors (Lopatcong, New Jersey). Distressed properties are not limited to this region, plus experts predict we'll all be living with them for quite some time to come. Written in April 2009! Maybe there realy are some expert experts!
- Sales Versus Service....Aversion to Sales! — by Jeanean Gendron, Real Living Real Estate Professionals (Redding, California). I am going to keep trying to get those sales skills. I know I need to do it. I just don't like it. In denial and hating it! I'd rather be developing my website!
- Adopt a pet — by Joshua Zargari, MJ Decorators Workshop (Lynbrook, New York). Just like humans, not everyone is going to get along. There will be days where the dog and the cat are going to feud or the iguana will get cantankerous and slap the dog with his tail for the fun of it.
- Questions I answer over and over — by Leslie Prest, Prest Realty Sales and Rentals (Payson, Arizona). No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... No.... Yes.... Wow! That feels pretty good to get that out!
Until next Saturday, blog away, and remember to make your posts Public so that we can reblog them! After all, if your posts are not rebloggable, how can I tell people to reblog them? "It's not logical," Spock would say.
