Grilled Peaches - Or Toni's Not Grilled Peaches

Real Estate Agent with Sailwinds Realty
I found a recipe for grilled peaches that is wonderful. But then decided it needed a make-over to make it easier so I’ve posted both versions here:  The original from Fresh Market: and Toni’s Not Grilled Peaches.
Peaches -

4 Tbls unsalted butter-melted.
2 Tbls dark brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
4 peaches, unpeeled, halved, and pitted.
⅓ c white baking chocolate, finely chopped.**
3 Tbls pistachios, coarsly chopped.

Heat grill to medium-high. Whisk together butter, sugar, & cinnamon till well blended. Add peach halves and toss to coat. Lightly oil grill grates, place peaches cut-side down on grill. Grill til slightly charred about 2 minutes. Using tongs turn peaches over carefully.
Divide chopped chocolate among peach cavities and drizzle with remaining mixture of butter/brown sugar.  Grill until chocolate begins to melt and peaches are charred, 2 minute (mol). To serve, sprinkle with pistachios or pair with ice cream.

My version is easier: Toni's Not Grilled Peaches

Same ingredients except I used mini-semi-sweet chocolate chips**. (I don’t like white chocolate); also skipped the pistachios. Added a secret ingredient at the end. Don’t worry, I’ll share.

I melted the butter/brown sugar/cinnamon in a saute pan on the stove (medium heat); sliced the peaches and added them to the pan. When the peaches start to look yummy and soft (a few minutes); take them off the heat.  Add the mini-chocolate chips (or white chips) and let them melt on the peach slices.
Plate the peaches for each person, and drizzle the mixture in the pan over them. Then add the secret ingredient. Drizzle a few drops of Lemonella on top (lemon liqueur).

Love those peaches!

Wow that does sound delicious, and I think I prefer your easy version.  Why bother messing up the grill when you already have the saucepan out?

I agree. Chocolate vs. the white chocolate and leave out the pistachios. The secret ingredient sounds interesting.

Toni - I can see that recipe working and being really wonderful.  I make something similar with sliced apples.  I use walnuts rather than pistachios in that recipe. . .I also add Craisins.  I need to try your peaches.  They sound so yummy!

Toni Weidman, ~ Love your easy version of the peach dessert and your secret ingredient!!!! I saw the Roy Kelley re-blog;  so happy he read your post. Both versions sound fabulous; however, I like the simplicity of your version. Means we can have it more often...
