How High Do You Have To Be Before It Starts to Really Feel Good?

By

There are times when you feel that you're really on the edge. No one else you know is looking at your surroundings quite the same way as you do. The weakness you initially felt in your knees is slowly dissipating. A 360 degree spin sends you into a slight euphoric state. What is going on? Are you still in control? Yes, everything is good in your life, you've just moved from terra firma at ground level to the elevated atmosphere of High Rise living. These buildings have at least 8 stories as a minimum to even begin to be called "High Rise" according to our MLS.  Anything under five stories and you could be looking at treetops instead of the open vistas.  Then the higher you go the better it is going to be, right.  Well, that's generally the idea.  There is a possibility you could reach a point of diminishing returns although it's not likely.  The thrill of viewing your surroundings from the bird's perspective is intriguing don't you think?

It's all about the sensation you feel at those heights. Some persons are quite comfortable while others barely tolerate the feeling. Oh, and feeling there is. A slight breeze at certain speeds can cause a mild vibration at your feet and send it right up to your head. I like to think of these skyhomes as living, breathing entities which will take a little time for you to get to know. Wind direction plays a factor as does speed along with temperature. Sensations may vary during sunsets or sunrises too. We hope you can become accustomed to them. It can be sounds also accompanied with vibration. In any event you'll soon get to know your building and it's living nuances much better than any infrequent visitor ever would. That's when you can begin to enjoy your new high!

Well, I'll be, it does look like cotton candy from up here!

Wow, love the shot with the skyscrappers peaking out from the low cloud cover!  Where did that come from?

Very interesting, I really like picture used bottom right with the buildings above the clouds. I'm definitely afraid of heights, but I love heights if I feel in control.... Have a good day – Jon

Iran, this is Dubai when everything going strong.  It used to be only Mother Nature could have granted us access above the clouds, now we build there too.

Jon, why I must always get over to the edge and peer down I'll never know.  It's always a strange feeling at the onset.  A great day so far, hope that yours is also!

Kevin, You working today, too?  Great pictures. I have no urge to get over to the edge and peer down, as you do.  I don't really care for heights.  I'll leave that to people like you.  I like my feet planted firmly on the ground, thanks anyway.

Not too many tall buildings in Melbourne to get you nervous Sandy.  It's always all about the view whether we're 5 feet above sea level or 30 stories up.

VB, being able to look at the clouds hanging below your living room has got to be an eerie scene.

Great post and love the picture - very cool. I am not a huge fan of heights, but  I will go for look over if there is a balcony. And probably not a bungee jumper ever either!

Not as exhilerating as the Wedge Sharon but the nerves still get to tingling the closer to the edge we get.

Hello Joshua, I think about Dubai when there's no more oil left, World's tallest ghost town.
