Cube Steaks with Hasty-Tasty Sauce
The Good Housekeeping Cookbook 1963
OK, I was just inspired by Karen Burket's Saturday Foodie Post. My partner is vegetarian, and Asian, and I don't cook those types of food well, although I absolutely love them, especially Thai food! So when I cook, it's generally for myself. I tend to get stuck in ruts, which I enjoy for a time and then I never want to eat it again! Like the time I was into HotPockets and a salad. That lasted for quite awhile, months maybe, but it eventually played out. I can tell you it will be quite awhile before I ever see another HotPocket again!
I was into Marie Callender frozen foods for quite awhile too. But the last one I tried almost made me sick, so the end of that one too.
My latest is sometimes hamburgers - easy to cook. And pork chops or sometimes chicken breasts - just stick them in the oven for 30 minutes covered in Italian dressing. A salad or vegetable on the side. Perfect!
I few weeks ago I was in Safeway and saw a package of Cube steaks. Boy did that bring back memories! My old Good Housekeeping Cookbook had a great and quick recipe of Cube Steaks with Hasty Tasty Sauce. I bought the cube steaks. Since the last move, I have no idea where that cookbook ran off too. So I Googled it! There it was! Yummmmm! That's what I'm havin' tonight!
