Do You Honk or Moo?
Are you standing out in the crowd?
It's a crowded real estate world out there. There's lots of competition.
So are you one of the crowd or are you able to stand out?
Most of us no doubt want to stand out, and for the right reasons, not because we do a lousy job, are incompetent, provide crummy service or other negatives that make consumers to want to steer clear.
And with the market being what it is, and the not-so-stellar- rep our industry has, it may not be easy to stand out. Don't we often hear that REALTORS are all alike, or something to that effect?
While that's clearly NOT true, the point is that it CAN be hard to stand out in the crowd if you are like everyone else, and you probably have to step outside your comfort zone to do it, or perhaps do something other than the ordinary.
The sad thing is that given how much mediocrity we see, just doing your job reasonably well can make you stand out. But let me suggest some areas where you CAN stand out, should you choose to do so.
Services you provide to clients - provide something unique or special
Customer Service - make buyers and sellers Remember you for this; anticipate needs and questions, do what you say you are going to do; under-promise and over-deliver
Communication - poor communication is one of the biggest complaints consumers have about REALTORS, so make sure you communicate regularly and clearly
Create and Implement Systems that work
Marketing (on-line and in print) - just being here sets you apart from the crowd
Market and Area Knowledge
Continue to grow and learn through classes and webinars
USP - Unique Selling Proposition - what's yours?
So what IS your point of difference? And how ARE you standing out in the crowd. Care to share?
