Homes for Sale in Ahwatukee can be found in zip codes 85044, 85045, and 85048. Access in and out of Ahwatukee was slow in developing. At one point it was known as the "World's Largest Cul-de-sac" because early on there was only one way in and out. That was at Elliott Rd. and I-10. As the community grew, freeway ramps were built at Warner Rd. followed by Ray Rd., Chandler Blvd., and finally, Pecos Rd. Today, Ahwatukee is one of the safest and most well maintained communities in the Phoenix Metro Area. It is only 20 minutes from the Phoenix International Airport, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, Chandler Fashion Square, Arizona State University, Tempe Diablo Stadium - a favorite spring training facility, and Chandler Regional Hospital. Within 40 minutes you can be at the HoHoKam Stadium - home of the Chicago Cubs spring training, the Diamondback's Baseball Stadium, US Airways Center - home of the Phoenix Suns basketball team, downtown Phoenix, and not too far from the University of Phoenix Stadium - home of the Phoenix Cardinal's. There are many hospitals to choose from - Gilbert Mercy, Banner Desert, St. Lukes, or Banner Samaritan Hospitals.
