Lost listing I hated. So why am I depressed?

Lost listing today (more precisely, they did not renew a 6 month contract).
So why am I feeling a little depressed.  The owners would not take my advice regarding pricing or condition improvements.  Sometimes we just need to "give up the ghost" and let it be okay.  Forget the time, effort and money invested and get on with it!! Yeah!! So, why am I depressed?

That's why I got out the business.  Started taking the downs way too hard and the ups...well...there weren't enough.

Hi Roberta,

I know it is hard to lose but I always see it as a blessing. I had one for 1 year, did open houses about 45 times including holidays, worked so hard, presented and negotiated all offers but the seller would not accept the offers and would not paint the ugly colored wall or clean the carpets (urine smell). So the last offer came 2eeks before end of listing for $407,000 but he refused and wanted $415,000. Listed with another brokerage and ended up selling it 4 months later for $373,000 so I laughed but still I felt bad....Human nature I guess. I think I wanted the sale for my stats and I did feel like a loser but I had to move on as the seller would not comply. He thought he knew more than me. So he ended up $34,000 poorer.

Find a seller you can work with, you'll feel better.

Love the new picture.  And you know what?  You're in good company.  I lost a listing today too.  It's a bummer, but another one will come along.
