Unclaimed Money: Unclaimed money schemes on the rise

There have been lots of articles lately that have been published related to unclaimed money and that it is a scam.

The largest scam involving unclaimed money recently is a rash of emails that have you call an overseas phone number to which they try to keep you on the phone as long as possible so that they can rack up long distance charges.

There are many other factors as well.  To read more on this story, go to http://www.thirdage.com/news/unclaimed-money-schemes-could-be-scams_08-29-2011.

I will say that one of the ways they report is that it comes in the form of an email.  The state's and organizations that deal with giving this money back (or helping to) don't send out emails, however, I do.

The money that I seek to return is not listed on any site and we verify that it's real prior to us contacting you.  We are located in the U.S., we write letters, make phone calls and send out emails.

Not all of us our scams.

Good morning Jeffrey. This scam, like so many, is really sad. However, when folks believe they are getting something for nothing from out of nowhere, you have to wonder, what were they thinking?
