About a week or so ago I found this little guy in my driveway and I released him to my backyard.  I haven't spotted him since.

Oh how cute.  I think you can keep a turtle like that as a pet.  My neighbor did.  It used to eat the grass and insects.

Cathy,  Cute!  I like the infant picture.   The little boy looks like my friend's little one.  Take care.

Hi Cathy - Some animals ought to get a pass on being part of the food chain, for no other reason than that they're just too nice to eat, and I include turtles on that list. And probably mock turtles, too, unless they're made out of chocolate, pecans and caramel.

Ok im slow it took me two views to get the Ketchup pun  lol .   I  Don't want to know what "real" or "mock" taste like.   The top photo is a keeper.   I know the story of the turtle and the hare, but did you ever do a post regarding why you like turtles that  may have I missed?   Just curious...  Thanks for sharing.

@ Stephanie - Enjoyed meeting you today at lunch!

@ Dick - When my hubby first said that, yes I borrowed his line, it made me laugh and cry at the same time.  We were actually looking at turtle with a shark bite to the fin.  I have another really good one but thought I'd save it for later. Only one turtle post per month :)

@ Anita - Thank you. He's a cutie

@ Michele - The "turtle suit" is actually a hamburger suit. I should blog that, thanks!

@ Lisa - It's a mystery! No, I just surf pictures, take some, and then make some!  I found this one.  It's something I do late at night when I can't sleep!

Thanks for your comments!

I didn't even know you could buy turtle soup in cans? I've heard of it in restaurants, but I've never even thought about looking for it in my grocery store.

Todd, it's gross, right?  I thought turtle soup was illegal, not sure.  What I want to know is, what is "mock" turtle soup?  Is that turtle juice with chicken pieces or what? Thanks for stopping by to comment.
