The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will be held on September 25, 2011 in the Fashion Island area of Newport Beach. This is the 20th Annual Race for the Cure in Newport Beach, CA.

This is my third year running in this race, and we have a team that my daughter Morgan named for us last year "I Love My Lady Lumps" - named after the very popular Fergie song. If you would like to join our team, we would love to have you. Please visit our Susan G. Komen website, and click on join our team, and then register for the race. We will be running in the 7:30 am race.

This is our team from last year - we had 52 people sign up for our team alone, and looking forward to increasing that number!

It is quite an event and it is a 5K, and I can assure you there will be thousands of people there who are all running to raise money for the cure.

Hi Gary - that is awesome, they have these races all of the world now, to raise money. They are incredibly organized which is awesome!!! It is a very high statistic for breast cancer, as I believe the national average is 1 in 8, and here in Orange County it is 1 in 7 who gets affected by the disease.
