Building & Code Staff Appreciation Day

Home Builder with Javic Homes

This one is a real blockbuster of a holiday, but it’s time to show a little love to the folks that make sure that our buildings are safe and up to code.  I’m sure the building, zoning and other employees at the city and county departments throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas feel like a punching bag from time to time, but today, September 1st, is the day for us to show our appreciation for them.

Again this is one of those holidays where nobody can seem to find the origin, but I think we can guess which underappreciated group couldn’t care less.  Now the problem with this holiday is that I’m not quite sure how to show my appreciation.  An ‘atta boy or girl with a slap on the back, just doesn’t seem adequate.  We know how government folks are when it comes to accepting gifts…a real No, No.  Guess I could anonymously send a candygram.  A basket of fruit?  I know, maybe some tools.  Hmmm…probably best not to mix work and appreciation.

Regardless, here’s a quick shout out to all the hard working building and code staff.  You’re much appreciated by us.

Thank you and enjoy YOUR day!

Jon Solomon

Hi Jon-the red tape issues can be a huge drag but the code inforcers are there for a good reason-happy holiday to them! LOL

I agree, Marco.  Funny thing is that the building and code folks don't even know about the holiday.
