Uploading and Signing PDF's, DotLoop Tip of the Day

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with The DotLoop Company
Being a real-estate agent in the 21st century is all about keeping up with the fast-paced, technology-driven culture that has enveloped our society today. DotLoop aims to do just that by simplifying the electronic transaction process through our easy-to-use collaborative workspace.

Here is your daily tip to increase production through the DotLoop system:

Did an agent send you a document you need to sign in .PDF format? No problem!

DotLoop's collaborative workspace allows you to sign and make small changes to .PDF files with our Attachments feature.

In your Loop Summary(Listing/Buying/Basic), click on Add Attachment at the bottom of the page.

On the following screen, you will see our Attachment Uploader. Clicking on Choose File will allow you to browse your computer for the appropriate .PDF file you wish to upload.

After you chose the correct .PDF file, you must enter a File Name and click Save & Continue.

After your attachment is uploaded, you will see this screen. If you would like to add signature/inital boxes, click Add Signatures/Initials. Otherwise you may Skip(do nothing), or Send Online, which will send the .PDF as is.

Clicking this link will bring up our Attachment Editor, which contains a Draggable Toolbox.

The Draggable Toolbox gives 3 options: Sign, Initials, or Notes. Clicking and dragging the Sign button will bring down an interactive signature field, the same is true for the Initial button, but for an initial box. The Notes option will drag down a single, editable line of text(normally used for Dates, or to strike out an old value and add a new one).

Clicking on a signature or intial box after you have pulled it down will bring up a menu asking you who needs to sign or initial in that spot. You may either click on Listing Agent/Client or Buying Agent/Client(the system also allows you to go a step further and assign it to a specific Agent/Client).

The Notes box allows you to edit the text inside of it, as well as select whether the box will be Transparent or not. If you don't check Transparent, there will be a box around your text as shown.

After you have entered in all pertinent Signatures/Initials or Notes, click Save & Continue.

The next screen will ask if You(The Agent) would like to sign now. Clicking  Yes will allow you to sign any boxes you have assigned to yourself.

Clicking No will take you to a screen where you can Submit Your Attachment(s) to your Clients or another Agent. On this screen you can select the parties that need to receive the Attachment, type a Custom Email Message, and Send your attachments through DotLoop. Clicking Skip will take you back to your Loop Summary where you can continue to work on other documents in your transaction.

This is an interesting concept.  Seems much more difficult than simply taking out a pen and signing.  Ideally, we'll be able to sign any document using finger or stylus on any touch screen and authenticate and seal with biometric verification.

Daniel- DotLoop solves the problems that exist with pen-to-paper transactions.  Using DotLoop's solution, agents and their clients can perform all transaction activities on our single platform, rather than continually redraft and sign multiple forms, or have to use separate technology solutions.  This particular tip simply covers the uploading and signing portion of DotLoop's funtionality.

We invite you to explore DotLoop more by visiting DotLoop.com.
