Come Spend the Day At the New City Street Fair September 4
The main street of New City, NY has undergone a revitalization over the past year. The down side to it is that the closing fo many of the streets for the duration of the construction work took it's toll on local businesses. In an effort to rev up these businesses, the local Chamber of Commerce is going all out with this year's New City street fair and encouraging all Rockland residents to "Spend the Day" at the fair.
"Spend the Day" is this year's theme and there are lots of fun activites planned to keep you and your family entertained for the entire day. The venue of this years street fair will differ from the past. Instead of the lawn in front of the courthouse from years past or the Clarktown Town Hall parking lot which was last year's venue, the fair will spread over South Main Street and spill over onto Congers Road.
There will be go-karts, a bounce house and train ride set up on the courthouse lawn, in addition to arcade games set up in several trailers down the street.
Food will be avaiable from vendors all along the street but if you'd like to take a break and sit down and enjoy a meal, you can do that too in the food court that will be set up in a tent on South Main Street.
For the artistic among you there will be arts and craft stations to participate in or if you just want to stroll and enjoy, you can stop by the Gazebo and fountain at Congers and South Main Street where there will be a showmobile and performance by a live band, complete with DJ. Some of the local dealerships will provide a collection of cars on display for your viewing pleasure.
Though the fair is being sponsored by the New City Chamber of Commerce, many of the local businesses have joined in to co-sponsor the event ( chief amongst them are Stop & Shop, Optimum, and Schultz Ford Lincoln).
The New City Fair will take place rain or shine between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM this Sunday, September 4.
So come prepared to Spend the Day and have a super time while showing your support for New City's local businesses.
