I Feel Pretty, Oh So Pretty

Time flies and with it so does our look.  In the 80's big hair, blue eyeshadow, Members Only jackets and side ponytails were all the rage.  In the 70's bell bottoms, platforms, butterfly collars and tie-dye were a hit.  Some of these looks come back again and again throughout the years.

How old is the picture you use on your biz card or your photo online?

My business card photo is 4 years old, but I actually went yesterday to get a new one.  It will be me and my niece and nephew on it.  I used to work with an agent the had a photo that was about 20-30 years old.  Her photo was her in her 20's-30's and now she is well into her 50's.

Mine's less than a year, but you've got me thinking. How long I wonder until chip technology gets cheap enough that we can have them inside our business cards? That way we could upload new images or perhaps even short videos at will! Too scary maybe? We're seeing LCD screens showing up of everything now. How about business card sized LCD screens? Yikes!

This is a very good point. I see a lot of high school graduation photos out there. Nice to see the glamour photo trend is over.

When I first got in this business I was stunned how many agents use photo's that are more than 15 or 20 years old.

very odd why people do this.

Current within the year.  I always love to look at the agents pictures in the homes magazines,,, So much so that sometimes I forget to look at the homes... okay not really, but some photos of some of the agents who have been in business much longer than I crack me up.

Less than a year.  Maybe time to do another one!  I like the photos that look professional but not like they were taken inside a studio.

I look the same but only thinner.  So .... I am thinking does it matter because I am thinner?

I think mine is 3 years old or so. I put on a couple lbs but I pretty much look the same. People tell me I look younger in person though.

Pretty easy for the guys.  If you grow, or if you shave the mustache, it's time for new pics.

If I used a photo with hair, it would be a dead give-away!

Mine is a little under 2 years.  I don't have a picture on my business card (thank goodness!)  I believe I'll have a new photo taken at the end of this year.

The photo here was taken in Italy 2 summers ago - so 24 months old.  "Problem" is it still looks like me, and it's become a BRAND.  I get more comments on my photo that almost anything else at least initially -- so should I change it?

@Susan in #73:  You are correct.  There is no need to change your picture.  In fact... it would not be a good thing if you did.  I totally agree with you about how it has become a "BRAND."  My recommendation:  Leave it alone.  It's become YOU !

Oh geez - the pic (which is my profile pic here) is about two years old and my face looks the same but I haven't have a haircut in all that time and my hair is now almost waist length!  LOL

I know I have to do something about that . . .
