Charles Town, West Virginia

Charles Town is located Jefferson County which is the eastern most county of the West Virginia panhandle. The city is named after Charles Washington, the founder, and youngest full brother of George Washington. The estimate population in 2006 was around 3900.

A main attraction to Charles Town are the horse races and slots. It contains over 5000 slot machines, live horse racing, and dining such as the EPIC Buffet, Sundance Grille, and The Skyline Terrace.

While the housing is more affordable than the surrounding areas such as Frederick, MD and Northern Virginia, the close proximity and the MARC train makes it ideal for commuters.  Homes include everything from older historic homes, new townhouse and single family subdivisions, river front properties, to country living on larger tracts of land.
