What is in your signature?? A full resume or just bragging alphabet soup???

By
Real Estate Agent with Fairfax Realty, Inc

I received an email from an agent and below is what is on the signature line (I deleted some lines not to reveal the identity)…. Maybe is just me, but is this just too much for a signature … Do all these actually impress some people? It does nothing from me and I wonder if this does anything for a potential client. This is not a resume for crying out loud….

Wow Keji-that is a little much for a signature! I have to agree with you all that stuff should be left on a resume. Ciao4now

Looks like a bit too much for me..But I guess the owner of this signature really wants people wo know how much time they have been in the business...

Chris Smith of Inman-Next, formerly of Tech Savvy Agent did a contest/survey regarding this very same subject. There were short signatures and very, very long signatures.

I am going to work on mine today.

Thanks for a very interesting subject.

Good morning Keji! They could have summed it up with Blah Blah Blah. I am never impressed by someone tooting their own horn. It tells me they spend more time gathering name tags than selling real estate.

Yes, too long and most people do not know what half of those designations mean anyway. Short and sweet is usually best!

It looks, to me, that they are trying to show all that they know and have accomplished in hopes that a potential client will see the value and hire them over someone else.  As an agent you battle all the people who have friends, uncles, neighbors etc that are agents and maybe work full time jobs (not in real estate) and work real estate just here and there....its a struggle, this signature screams I need business.......

Keeping it simple makes sense, but as agents we sometime like to brag.. for what purpose I don't know...
