Is touchy feely going away??

Real Estate Agent with Windermere/lane county 200305001

I was getting my daughter a new cell phone thru our carriers website. Basically everything was free. When I have got new phones in the past, I have gone to the carriers store and of course paid dearly even if it was an upgrade. My reason to go to the store is I like to touch and feel first!

Lately there was a post about Open houses that don't work. The thought is the internet has done away with the need to touch and feel. Is the whole world going this route?? Your Thoughts??

Rob, I still believe that walking through the doors of a home is about a feeling that it "fits".  You can't get that feel from a look at a screen on your laptop....

I rent over 50% of my high-end rental homes SIGHT unseen from my website where I show properties VACANT.  Getting a FEEL for someone else's furnished home is not the same as getting the FEEL for your new home and VISUALIZING your furniture in it.

Hi Rob,   Whhaattt  ?!?!   No way !  Open houses serve a very well defined part of the market - not really related to seeing them on the internet.

Caring expertise...knowledge for you!

I think the introductory moments are internet related, but as soon as it's "serious time", not just exploratory time, everyone wants that face to face.

Of course not - Why do you think they call them iTouch Phones?  And what about look, but don't touch? Seriously, people usually look first, then touch.  It is the same with houses.  Look online, touch in person.

Rob, I prefer to order online.. seems like the phone store never has the phone that I want and there is always a waiting line..
