Are your associations doing their part???

Real Estate Agent with The Society Real Estate Group at Keller Williams Premier

This is just a question, which I have been wondering more and more as time goes by.  I just feel there are so many great things my association does and provide us with, but more and more I keep thinking the negatives are out-weighing the positives.


Why are they not on top of those agents that are not being honest with their REO/SS statuses?

Why are they letting many agents keep properties Active when they are Pending?

When will there be a follow up on complaints? or at least set up a Hotline for us agents to say what's going on?


I am in South Florida and it's just sad how we get rid of a bunch of bad Mortgage brokers who were only out to do good for themselves, but now we have agents that are only out for themselves as well.  Many of these REO/SS agents are telling us agents that the property is under contract when it really isn't so they can wait for the BUYER and thus getting both sides of the deals.  By doing this, they are delaying processes that would help the economy and at the same time our Real Estate market.

Trust me this is not a Yuri Flores issue, in my office I hear it all the time from agents screaming on the phone or complaining to others about this.

I just feel its time to weed out all the bad agents as well.

Interesting post Yuri.  I have seen and felt the same for a number of years.  Unfortunately, it seems to not necessarily be something the licensing board is interested in pursuing.

Thanks Lawrence and Andrew, see this is the thing and I think and feel this is why all of the sudden i'm almost fed up with them to put it bluntly. 

I just attended the FLORIDA FREC meetings and met the commissioners, unfortunately it seems they have so many other things in mind then to go through what an agent feels over another agent, the truth is that they don't make much from us unless there are yearly fees at time of renewal.  On the other hand the individual county associations do and they are the ones that need to be held accountable.

I hit the breaking point with an agent which later I found out was the BROKER of the company.  To make it short, I made an offer then (emailed it, faxed it, called numerous times), and nothing, no acknowledgement of receipt, although i know it was read cause of my email confirmation.  When I called the office there was no contact, the receptionist said she was always out, and nothing.  Ok, so then I see about a week after it was PS.  Ok whatever didn't think nothing of it until 1 month later it's back on the market, same agent, and again I placed another offer all OVER PRICE and well again this time 2 weeks went by, yes I passed and drove by, she was never there.

In my opinion she's breaking one of the RE rules which is Failing to Present all offers... so then I said you know what I'm done with this I'm gonna file a complaint, then when I went to look at the complaint process are you serious it was like 10 pages, of instructions and appllications and this and that... I didn't have the time. 

Something needs to be done with this, and I think we pay too many fees for it not to be.

I've talked to some people from our association and I think it has to do with costs. They are trying to keep costs down for their members. What that means to us is that their are less people to answer complaints in a timely manner.
