For the Aggies in Colorado Springs: Texas A&M Football Schedule

This morning’s cool September breeze reminded me that summer is over and school is back in session.  The college football season kicked off yesterday.  Being a Texas Aggie, class of 1994, I automatically find myself thinking about Texas A&M football.  The weather was just cool enough here in Colorado Springs that I was able to proudly wear my Texas A&M jacket to the Colorado Springs Balloon Classic last night.

Texas A&M 1984The spirit found at Texas A&M University football games stays with Aggies long after they have graduated and moved away from College Station, Texas.

Fortunately for me, quite a few Aggies call Colorado Springs their home.  Just yesterday, I met a couple of Aggies from the class of 2011 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center.   We almost immediately began talking about football.

There is a lot to talk about this year.  The Aggies are currently ranked #8.   They have their first game tonight (Sunday) against Southern Methodist University.    The Aggies may move out of the Big 12 after this year.  No one can imagine not playing Texas.  The on campus bonfire, which represented the burning desire to beat the University of Texas, looks like I will remain a memory from the past. (Well, I didn’t talk about the bonfire with these Aggies  from the class of 2011.   Unless they went as young children, they’ve never been to a bonfire.)

The current Texas A&M football schedule is shown below.   The following link has other Texas A&M University sports calendars.

Aggies 46 SMU 14 on the first game.... off to a good start. The rebuilding took a few years under Mike Sherman but they are coming into their own now.

Howdy Beth!  I'm not sure, but I've just now called the president of the Pikes Peak A&M Club, to see if she knows.

I'm here with the military and have found myself working on lots of game days over the last couple of years, to include today, so I haven't checked into it previously.   However, it sounds like a FUN idea.  Actually, I love the idea.   If there isn't one, lets  plan on getting a group together this season.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.  Gig em' Ags!!!
