Twenty miles of north of Charlotte, NC is Davidson NC. Home of Davidson College,Go Wildcats!
I had the privilege a few years ago of transporting my granddaughter to school every morning. Her parents working hours required them to be at work before the school day began at Davidson Elementary. I absolutely loved the opportunity to spend bonding time with my granddaughter and to acquire a great appreciation for this quaint, Mayberryesque town that I fell madly in love with.
Davidson, NC is small town living, a warm feeling of community, and did I mention that it is on Lake Norman but with a twist of big town amenities. Downtown Davidson has an incredible amount of walkability,Davidson Elementary had a walk to school day, once a month, everyone was walking, parents, kids on their bicycles, along with the dogs trailing nearby. For the children that rode on the school buses, there was a bus stop set up by the parents, so any student(with the permission of their parents), could get off at that stop and walk with the parent volunteers to school. I loved it! It did not take me long to realize that this is a village where residents know and care for one another.
I loved the older homes with the wide porches most of them are bungalows, located in the Historic District.New neighborhoods must incorporate a variety of lot sizes and housing types, including making 12.5% of housing, affordable. Below are a list of average home prices in Davidson, NC.
