Central Texas is burning as are many other parts of Texas.
This was a sad Labor Day weekend for many in the state of Texas as they have watched their homes burn, been displaced due to evacuation of their subdivision or participated in some way to help control the many fires we are experiencing.
In Bastrop County (30 miles east of Austin, Tx) over 30,000 acres and 476 homes have burned. Many of these homes are in rural areas....money and jobs aren't easy to obtain and now they must deal with re-building their homes and lives. AND THIS FIRE ISN'T CONTAINED - STILL RAGING, MOVING SOUTH.
In Steiner Ranch Subdivision (about 2 miles from my home) 25 homes destroyed and approximately 30 damaged. This master planned community was evacuated Sunday afternoon. Thousands were displaced and haven't been let back in yet.
To see the magnitude of how many fires are affecting Texas at this time please go to the Texas Forest Service Fire Activity website (ticc.tamu.edu/Response/FireActivity/)
Please send prayers, positive thoughts and RAIN!
