UPDATE! Walker County Fire Departments NEED YOUR HELP!

Real Estate Agent with 101 Main St. Realty 518539

KSAM Collecting for Fire Departments TODAY

They will be there until 6 PM!

Headed to a fire on I-45 on Labor DayThe sounds of sirens and flashes of red and yellow lights are not uncommon these days in Texas. As you know, our firefighters have been working non stop, fighting fire after fire. Their supplies are OUT and they are depending on the generosity of YOU and me to help them.

Huntsville Fire Station #1 ©JoniStaplesKSAM will be at the Parking Lot Behind Walgreens (in front of Shenanigans) in Huntsville RIGHT NOW from 11-6 collecting money or gift cards for our local fire departments. If you would like your donation to go to a specific fire department, please let them know at the time.

Riverside VFD RainbowMOST of our fire departments are VOLUNTEER fire departments. These men and women DO NOT get paid, nor do they expect compensation. HOWEVER, it would be really nice for us to show our support by donating what we can to help them while they place their lives on the line to serve us.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to give.

Joni - I am praying for all of the firefighters, people who have lost their homes and livestock, and for rain!  I have never seen such horrible fires in Texas and I've lived here all of my life.

Pam: Me too. Never lived anywhere else. I remember when I first started selling real estate and someone from California asked if we had crazy fires like they did and I was like "NO way!" I've NEVER seen anything like this. Think God is trying to get our attention?! You bet He is. I'm praying with you, girlfriend!

Robert: I have a friend in Bastrop. She said what I see on TV is nothing! It is horrific! Praying for ALL firefighters and emergency workers, the families and for God to calm the winds and bring the rain.

Amy: Most towns have facebook pages for their fire departments, offices of emergency and the Forest Service. These pages are very quick to update us on news and to ask for help. I used the AR platform to write the post and then send the link to the appropriate fb pages to try to solicit help from the fb fans. Thank you for commenting.

Joni, what a great cause. Yes, we've been watching the news about the fires and I just hate that you couldn't get any of the rain from Lee.

HI JONI!  I hope the turnout was fantastic - you are right - most of those who fight fires are volunteers and they sure do appreciate anything and everything!
