The first Dam Brewery Homebrewer Competition in Dillon Colorado is coming up.  All homebrewers must be registered by September 16, 2011.  If you want to compete in the first ever Dillon Dam Brewery Homebrewer Competition you have to deliver four 12 ounce bottles to the Dillon Dam Brewery by October 16, 2011.  The cost to enter is $10 per beer or 3 beers for $20.  You are limited to three types of beer per homebrewer.  There are seven categories that you can enter your homebrewed beers into:

  •  Light LagersBeer
  •  Dark Lagers
  •  Hoppy Beers
  •  Ambers/Reds/Easy Drinkers
  •  Dark Ales
  •  Belgians/Saisons
  •  Experimental Fruit/Herb/Spice Beers
The Awards Ceremony will be held at the Dillon Dam Brewery on Saturday, October 22, 2011.  The beer that receives top honors will be given a $50 Dillon Dam Brewery Gift Certificate and the brewery will brew 15 gallons of that beer on one of their small batch systems, the winning beers recipe will be sold on tap at the Dillon Dam Brewery.  There will be additional prizes and medals for the top beer in each category as well.
 
If you are a homebrewer start working on your best beer and get a sample of it down to the Dillon Dam Brewery so you can win top honors.

Krystal, I've never heard of a homebrewer competition before, it is a marvellous idea. What a great incentive for people to strut their brewmeister expertise, having your beer sold on tap at a brewery. This should bring out a lot of entries. It sounds like a really fun event.
