Friend Relocating

Real Estate Agent with Realty Associates

Just listed my friend's house to rent.  She is relocating to Georgia.  Got a call from a relocating fim that is handling her needs in Atlanta.  Seems they want 35% of my commission of the rental agreement here in Fl  and when she decides to put her house up for sale in a few years, the firm wants 35% of that.  Since I already have the listing agreement signed I didn't see any use for this.

These relocation companies control the puppet strings - if they want 35%, that's what we usually have to pay.  I and many others have had signed listings way before the relo company shows up and wants their percentage.

It doesn't seem to help to try to negotiate with them - maybe others have had success.  I wish you luck!
